Maine Defies National Trends

Maine Defies National Trends

The arrival of summer in Maine is a much-celebrated time of year. The “break of dawn” awakens the birds at 4:30 AM, and the sun rises shortly thereafter, followed by nearly 17 hours of daylight. Talk about magical! We locals can work a full day in the office and still have enough time to play nine holes of golf, mow the lawn, ride our bikes, go to the beach, and/or take a boat cruise with time to spare. However, we are pleased to report that Maine continues to be quite strong through May, according to Maine Listings, which cited a healthy 6.5% rise in the single-family home median sales price and a 4% increase in unit sales when compared to the same period last year.
